Gumroad price calculator

1,344 products · 42 categories · prices normalised to USD
Pick your category, type the price you were thinking of, and see how many people are already asking less. It is a positioning check, not a recommendation — the honest reason why is below the tool.

This tool needs JavaScript. The full table of every category is below and needs none.

What it is doing

Every figure comes from the same free CSV as the rest of this site: 1,344 distinct products seen across 42 category searches on 5 August 2026, with prices converted to USD at European Central Bank reference rates so a £ listing and a $ listing can be compared at all. Within a category the calculator counts listings rather than products, because a product that genuinely ranks for two searches competes in both.

What it will not do is tell you what to charge. Fitting a price against demand needs a sales figure, and most listings do not carry one: a minority of sellers switch on a public unit-sales counter, and for everyone else the only observable signal is whether a listing has attracted ratings — a signal that is weak, lagging and biased toward listings that have been up longer. What one rating is worth in units is measured on the sellers who do publish both, and the answer there is a wide range rather than a multiplier. What the tool can tell you honestly is where your number sits among the people already competing for the same buyer, and whether anyone is testing that price at all.

Every category, priced

The same data the calculator reads, sorted by how many listings were measured. The four percentile columns are over paid listings only — a free listing is not a price point, and mixing them in drags every percentile toward zero. The Listings column counts all listings in the category, free included, and so does Rated. Market-wide, the median across all 1,344 products is $35.00; across paid products only it is $36.99.

The thing pricing cannot fix

Before tuning a number, the base rate is worth stating: 458 of 1,344 products — 34% — have never received a rating, and across categories the correlation between the median price and the share of listings showing demand is r = -0.06. Charging less does not reliably buy demand; in 26 of 42 categories the cheaper half of listings out-rates the dearer half, which is close enough to a coin toss to act on as one.

Which is the honest limit of this page. It positions your price against the market. It cannot tell you whether the market is worth entering.

The written report — $249
The report is the part this tool deliberately does not do: it reads all 261 categories together and classifies each as an opening, crowded or thin — whether the demand in it is reachable or already held by three incumbents. You are paying for the interpretation, not for the rows. The rows are free, above and in the repository. If the data is all you wanted, take it and skip this.
Read the report — $249 Read three sections free first Or take all four CSVs free
The sample is the method sections lifted unedited out of the report — what was measured, the background rate, and the limits in full. Every section that says what to do is in the paid one. The free mirror is $0 with a $0 minimum and asks for an email at checkout. The same files without one: the data folder. The report carries a money-back guarantee, stated on the checkout page: full refund, no reason needed, and you keep the files.
